For children who are one, two, and three years old by September 1st.

Teachers will lovingly guide children as they work on their social and emotional development; learning to separate from parents, beginning to empathize with others, making transitions, and practicing self-control. Children will eat lunch in the classrooms and nap in the afternoon.
Children will...
-
develop large motor skills through activities such as jumping, dancing, and playing on the playground.
-
develop fine motor skills by playing with playdoh, puzzles, painting, and drawing.
-
develop language skills through singing, dramatic play, and listening to stories.
-
hear the word of God through weekly Bible Time, memory verses, prayers, and through the modeling of our teachers.
-
experience the joy and wonder of the natural world on our beautiful outdoor playground.

Music and Movement
Once a week, ECP children attend a music and movement class led by Ms. Leslie. In this class, children tap rhythm sticks and play instruments, work as a team to play parachute games, dance with bean bags, scarves and hula hoops. The songs chosen for the class are designed to help children with speech sounds, rhyming, and also reinforce weekly letters and other classroom themes. The songs and activities also give the children the opportunity to practice large motor goals such as jumping, skipping, and hopping on one foot. We frequently switch objects from one hand to the other and cross the midline, which is very good for brain development. The kids are having so much fun, they don't realize they are learning!
Research shows strong relationships between music and movement and the development of cognitive and motor skills important in early childhood. At ECP, it is a priority for us to offer daily opportunities for children to experience music and movement. Additionally, we provide a weekly music and movement time for each class. Music and movement are also incorporated into our worship at our weekly "Bible Time".

Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Psalm 95:1
