Children's Day Out (CDO): 9:05 am- 2:35 pm
For children who are one, two, and three years old by September 1st.
Classes offered twice a week on either Monday/ Wednesday or Tuesday/ Thursday
CDO classes are times of rich, developmentally appropriate play. Children will engage in dramatic play, sensory activities, art, stories, Bible Time, music, and outdoor play in a nurturing environment that allows children to thrive. Teachers will lovingly guide children as they work on their social and emotional development; learning to separate from parents, beginning to empathize with others, making transitions, and practicing self-control. Children will eat lunch in the classrooms and nap in the afternoon.
Children will...
-
develop large motor skills through activities such as jumping, dancing, and playing on the playground.
-
develop fine motor skills by playing with playdoh, puzzles, painting, and drawing.
-
develop language skills through singing, dramatic play, and listening to stories.
-
hear the word of God through weekly Bible Time, memory verses, prayers, and through the modeling of our teachers.
-
experience the joy and wonder of the natural world on our beautiful outdoor playground.

First Presbyterian Church
Early Childhood Program
Welcome to the Early Childhood Program (ECP) of the First Presbyterian Church of Edmond. We are so glad that you have taken the time to seek us out! I hope that, as you explore our website, you will see that ECP is a happy place; one where each child is recognized as a unique and special creation of God and is treated as such.
All of our classes are taught by warm, loving, experienced teachers who strive to make ECP a place where children can be children in a world that sometimes forgets the importance of childhood. We offer a developmentally appropriate integrated curriculum that addresses the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual growth of the child and which allows each child to develop at his/her own pace in a classroom with small student/teacher ratios.
We believe, as research has proven, that children learn through their play. Thus, children at ECP will be actively involved in the learning process through play and exploration using all of the senses. This is achieved through large group and small group experiences, activities designed to foster large and fine motor development, and both inside and outside learning.
We are a Christian school and we want children to experience the love of God and to learn His Word. We incorporate Bible stories, songs and activities that teach Biblical truths into our day. And our teachers strive to create an environment in which each child can experience God’s amazing love while they are at ECP.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Blessings,
Mary Singleton
ECP Director
