ECP Families, I want to thank you for your patience as I know you have been anxiously waiting for information about what school will look like this year. At the bottom of this message is a document that will hopefully be able to answer most of your questions. While you will find that numerous safety measures have been put in place, and which, from your perspective as an adult, may look somewhat different than in previous years, from your child's perspective, his/her day will not likely look much different than it has in the past. The safety of your children is always of the utmost importance to us, and, while we can not ever give you a 100% guarantee that your child won't get sick, we are doing everything in our power to keep that from happening. At the same time, we don't want to lose the essence of warmth and nurture that defines ECP and which is so necessary in these young ages. Our reopening plan attempts to address both of these issues.

The past couple of weeks have brought an extraordinary number of changes and challenges to many in our community. Unfortunately, these changes have also impacted ECP. In order to be certain that everything is ready and safe for your children, we have found it necessary to adjust our start and end dates. School will now begin after Labor Day, and the first day will be Wednesday, September 9th. The last day of school has been pushed back as well and will now be Thursday, May 20th. An updated calendar will be coming shortly.  I truly hope this doesn't cause too much inconvenience but due to the changes happening in the community, this additional preparation time is necessary.

I would like to encourage you with this thought. While we may find ourselves uncertain, anxious, overwhelmed, discouraged (or whatever feeling you need to add to this list), none of this is a surprise to God. He knew that 2020 would bring a pandemic and upend everything as we knew it. He also still has a plan in motion, and He is in control of it all. As we move toward the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year, I would ask you to join me in praying for ECP. May we see God at work in ways we never dreamed possible! Have a great weekend, and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Blessings, Mary Singleton, ECP Director
